Runtime table above is for previous HUGO. The new L30's performance will be similar in runtime, but L52 will have 70% more runtime.
Flow Sensor Kit (sold separately), includes:
- Brass Flow Sensor: Standard 3/4" NPT male thread on both ends.
- Temperature Sensor:
- The temperature sensor collaborates with the flow sensor in HUGO's operation. In the event of a city power outage and no detected water flow, HUGO enters standby mode, withholding power from the tankless water heater. However, if the temperature sensor registers a temperature below 37°F, it overrides the flow sensor, compelling HUGO to deliver continuous 120Vac power output until temperature reaches above 37F. This ensures that the tankless water heater receives the necessary power for its internal anti-frost function, safeguarding it during low temperatures.
- The new temperature sensor can now be either placed inside the HUGO unit or it can be stretched up to 5 ft of distance. This allows the temperature sensor to be mounted near a cold-water supply line in some installation situations.
- Push fitting adapters: Two (2) per package. Female NPT on one end, SharkBite on the other end. No welding or additional adapters required for water-tight connection. Suitable for copper or PEX piping system.
Delay Functions: HUGO is designed with 2 delay functions:
- Flow sensor delay: Upon the initial detection of a flow by the flow sensor, HUGO receives a command to commence supplying power for a minimum duration of 5 minutes. If, after this period, no further flow is detected, HUGO will deactivate the AC output. This functionality is designed to accommodate the restart cycle of certain appliances when power is restored, ensuring a seamless resumption of operation. Additionally, it enables tankless water heaters to stay active during intervals between water usage, such as when users are washing hands or dishes.
- City power restore delay: Upon the restoration of city power, HUGO introduces a one-minute delay before permitting the flow of city power into itself or downstream appliances. This deliberate delay serves to eliminate electricity spikes, providing a crucial interval for electricity to stabilize and ensure a safe entry into valuable equipment, safeguarding against potential damage.
