How is HUGO different?
HUGO functions differently from the traditional battery backup system for computers.  Even though it still serves as a battery backup and supplies power to the appliances, but features below show how truly unique we are.
First of all, HUGO is a true pure sine wave UPS that provides the most reliable source of electricity, as though your appliance is plugged into the wall and is powered by your service provider. Pure sine wave not only protects your appliances, it also makes your appliances run at peak efficiency.
The flow sensor used in the HUGO-X1R is another special invention that makes HUGO special.  The sensor is mounted on the cold water supply line.  Whenever user turns on the faucet or shower head, the sensor recognizes the movement of the water flow and allows the HUGO to start delivering output.  If the flow is not detected, HUGO will remain in standby mode.  This feature allows the battery to be used almost 100% for hot water use and also gives our customers days of service during power outage.
In addition to the flow sensor, HUGO is also configured with a temperature sensor that senses the ambient temperature.  This role is especially important for areas with freezing conditions.  When power is lost, the anti-frost mechanism of the tankless water heater will not work and can therefore cause freezing pipes or heat exchangers which results in crack or burst.  The HUGO temperature sensor will override all standby conditions and force HUGO to provide output power at 37 deg F so that the anti-frost mechanism of the tankless water heater (usually kick-in at 35 deg F) will work properly.
Apart from the above, HUGO has plenty more features, such as deep cycle SLA battery (15 years shelf life), 12ms transfer time, self-maintenance, input voltage monitoring, overload and short circuit protection, etc. HUGO is also built in a very durable and robust all-metal case that would allow HUGO to be completely waterproof for installation in any environment.
